Music Publishing & Rights

Publishing administration, registration, royalty collection and sync licensing for songwriters and producers.

Overview

Publishing is where most Nigerian songwriters lose money, and they usually lose it quietly. Unregistered works, missing splits and wrong metadata mean royalties accrue somewhere and never arrive.

We register the catalogue properly, chase what is owed, and license the work into film, television and advertising where it can earn again.

What is included

  • Catalogue audit and works registration
  • Split agreements and co-writer documentation
  • Society and collection agency registration
  • Royalty collection and audit
  • Sync licensing for film, TV and advertising
  • Sample clearance and interpolation licensing

  • Catalogue valuation guidance

How we run it

  1. 01

  2. 02

    Build

Register works correctly and paper the splits that were only ever verbal.

  3. 03

    Launch

Pursue collection and pitch the catalogue for sync opportunities.

  4. 04

    Measure

Report royalties by source and audit the statements that look wrong.

Questions

Before you enquire

We never papered our splits. Is it too late?
Usually not, though it gets harder as time passes and relationships change. Doing it now is far cheaper than doing it during a dispute.
Do you take ownership of the copyright?
No. We administer; you keep ownership. Any arrangement is written down before work starts.
Can old catalogue still earn?
Frequently yes, particularly through sync and streaming, once registration and metadata are corrected.
